Concert at the Summer Palace

Hey there,

Since the day I arrived in Vienna, I have been told to go to one of the cities famous free outdoor concerts. While I have been to a few, none have been as beautiful as the Vienna Philharmonic playing at Schönbrunn Palace last Thursday. The show consisted of different classical music works which is very typical for the Vienna atmosphere. Thousands of people showed up with blankets, wine, and great food to sit down along the long backyard gardens of the palace and it made for a great night to relax and hang out with some friends.

This past week many of my friends have been making their travels back home. To send them off we have been visiting some of our favorite spots including the best bars in Vienna! My personal favorite is a rooftop bar called Dachboden located in the 6th district. It has a really cool atmosphere with an awesome view. The only “downside” is that it is mainly a cocktail bar and the drinks can get a little expensive. But that’s exactly why it’s great for special occasions!

Believe it or not, I am just now starting my last class of the semester! It is a two week long class that takes place three times a week for five hours a day…wish me luck! I’m starting to feel a little excited to return home, but that’s not to say I’m not still enjoying my time here in Vienna. I feel that I have done a lot of great work here and am ready to catch up with my friends and family back home.
