The Guinness Storehouse

This weekend my boss asked if I’d be able to work on a Saturday. While at first I was a little hesitant to give up one of my weekend days, I agreed- at the very least it’d be a new experience. The recruitment agency that I work for supplies temporary bar and wait staff for the store house on a weekly basis but after being told 64 of our staff would need to be there on Saturday alone, they needed on of us to be there to make sure our staff didn’t have any issues with check in or working.

I arrived at the store house at around 3 pm and didn’t leave until well after 4:30 am. In that time I checked in all of our staff, made sure everyone had their proper uniform, made a few calls to the people that didn’t show up to their shifts on time, and ran around the entire storehouse (which is huge) about 50 times to make sure our staff was where they needed to be. It was a really fun night and I was able to meet some of the staff who I had only talked to over the phone and even see some of the people I interviewed on their first job with our company!

Working in the storehouse was a really busy night so by the time I got back to my apartment at 5 am I was exhausted. I’ll be happy to hear back from my boss what Guinness thought of the night! It meant a lot to me that Excel trusted me to ensure our 64 staff were situated on my own and stay the night to answer any questions Guinness had. I enjoyed the extra responsibility!
