Final Takeaways From Japan

The program had already ended for several days and I still feel like it being a dream that would be my best and most valuable memory forever. I made a lot of Japanese friends and they are very friendly and helpful. There were all kinds of parties and events that kept us engage socially. We get to know how Japanese students class schedules work each day and what they like to do in the weekend and we learn a lot from just comparing the difference between our country to Japan. It had really been a pleasure to get to know the Japanese students and also the culture there. It is also fantastic that we could all emerge into the culture that quick during the five week program that is relatively short. Thanks to the Japanese students’ help and passionate attitude toward English, we get to have a really good time in Japan. One change that I see my self make is that I become more polite as I starting to learn more about the language, especially the polite version of the language. I then know how popular and how common it is to use the polite version of language in their daily life and also accompany with some polite expression of nodding head and bowing. I realize how important it is for politeness to play a part in our life.

Also, some small details that I’ve changed with regard to our dorm’s rules are that I get into the habit of changing my slippers whenever I enter into the bathrooms and thank the cooking staff for the good food they offer after I put back my tray. These things might sounds like pretty boring and useless, but it is still a challenge if you could keep doing them day after day and once you’ve got used to the process of all these, you would find out that you have changed into a organized and a polite person. These are some characteristics that I really need for stepping far into the business field. These small things are what make a difference between you and other people when we both have the same background and same capability. These will make you standout from the crowd. So I’m really glad that I went to Japan and learned those things from them. It is not hard if you do them once or twice, but it will become hard if you want to keep doing them and make them a habit or characteristics of yourself. And these are my biggest takeaways that I want to bring them to Pitt Business and continue to develop them.
