After our many eventful days of traveling, today we relaxed and went to local touring sites. Following our class today we attended the Irish Museum of Modern Art and the Trinity College Library. I think it is safe to say that we had different expectations for the Irish Museum of Modern Art. It was very “modern” as opposed to the art we were used to. Either way, I still think we had fun being confused at the exhibits, especially the folded sheets and 4 square game. The museum also had a nice garden area in the back. The courtyard of the museum was exceptionally beautiful and reminded me a lot of the castles we have been visiting.
After the museum, we then went to the Trinity College Library. This has been the one site I have wanted to see since day one, so I am incredibly happy we were able to visit. The Book of Kells has major historical significance, so I’m happy I was able to see that in my lifetime. The Trinity Library was insanely beautiful, almost as pretty as the Cathedral. If the Cathedral was a library, it might have Trinity Library beat. Regardless, it was a beautiful site to see and I’m happy I can tell my friends at home about it.
As much as I love the long excursion days, I also love the days where we can sit and relax with the group. I have really been able to bond with them and I hate to count down the days.
