This is Me!

Hi!  My name is Sara Salley and I am a sophomore Marketing major.  I am also intending to pursue certificates in International Business and Related Concentration in European Studies.  I have just recently decided that I wanted to be a Marketing major, after years of having no idea what I wanted to do with my life.  This will be my first semester as a business student, so I am hoping that this experience will give me a better idea of specific career paths I want to pursue.  Some interesting things about me are that my eyes are two different colors, and I love collecting thimbles!  I have a great love for foreign countries and cultures, so that is why I decided to study abroad.

I have been dreaming of the day I could study abroad since 7th grade, and I always had my heart set on London.  I am finally making that dream a reality by taking the opportunity to join the Global Business Institute on the London trip for my spring semester.  London is one of the most eclectic and diverse cities in the world, full of various cultures and languages.  This hub is the main reason I chose London.  I can’t wait to travel to different countries, and maybe visit Spain, which was my first European country (and will always have my heart).

I have yet to have had an internship, so this experience will be my first.  Being an online grocery associate at Walmart has definitely prepared me for the customer service interactions I am hoping to take on during this internship.  The international aspect of the internship will definitely help me be more open-minded and adaptable.  I very excited to learn from a business professional during my time abroad.  This opportunity will definitely enhance my independence, self-reliance, and time management.  I can’t wait to be in London, exploring the city, and learning as much about Marketing as possible!
