So – as we close off our time in Pittsburgh, let’s focus on takeaways for your personal and professional development from the Pittsburgh part of the course.
In terms of professional development, maybe it was a company or organization that you enjoyed seeing and might want to work with again or perhaps one of the contacts you met on the various visits. What is your professional development takeaway from your time spent in the Pittsburgh part of the course?
My takeaway from the Pittsburgh portion of the course in terms of professional development was that I really enjoyed the laid-back atmosphere of companies like GoRealty and Gatesman Advertising, and I could see myself working in a similar environment in my future. I really liked the idea of cooperation and community that these companies promoted. Although some of the other companies were interesting, the people at GoRealty and Gatesman seemed to really want to be at work and interact with us.
In terms of personal/social development, maybe it was activities on campus or the people you have met – what is your personal development takeaway from the Pittsburgh part of the course?
Personally, I really enjoyed hanging out with everyone on the trip. I enjoyed the team atmosphere and had a blast playing basketball almost every night with the boys (and Dr. Jones). Even though I am a Pittsburgh native, the city excursions and tours were a lot of fun and I got to explore some parts of the city that I had never been to before like Bakery Square.
