July 30, 2019 – Pre-Flight Thoughts

This is an exciting and enjoyable prompt.  Later on today, we will be sitting on the runway in the airport in Chicago at the moment before our plane takes off for Ireland.  This is always one of the most memorable and reflective times of a trip to a place that you are looking forward to visiting.

Either in preparation for this moment or looking back on it later, what is going through your mind at the moment before the plane takes off?  What are you most looking forward to doing in Ireland?

I am definitely a little nervous because I have never been to another country (apart from the US and Canada) and I have never flown over water so that will be a new experience for me. I am really curious to see how much the culture over in Ireland differs from the culture in America. I am really looking forward to seeing the Cliffs of Moher and Galway while we are in Ireland, and I am very excited to explore the country’s food. I am also really interested in seeing Google and Microsoft’s Dublin headquarters to gain some insight in the growing tech industry in Dublin as well as see two highly successful companies in action.
