I love to travel, and I enjoy exploring cultures different from my own. This was one of the major reasons why I chose to participate in the Haller program. This program gives me the opportunity to explore a new country while giving me valuable academic and international business experience. I am excited to learn how business practices translate across cultures and how they are conducted in Ireland. But I am enjoying the Pittsburgh portion of the program too, as I am exploring campus and starting the first semester with a positive class experience on my transcript.
My main personal goals are to learn about Ireland, where several members of my family immigrated from, and to learn about international business, which is something I want to integrate into my future career. I am a marketing major, and marketing practices change from country to country, meaning that this experience will be very valuable for me. I also want to build good academic habits to succeed in my classes at Pitt during the next four years. Overall, the Haller program is an experience I am going to find beneficial for both my future academic and professional careers. One of my goals for my undergraduate experience is to spend a semester abroad, and I think going to Dublin this summer is a great way for me to decide what kind of program I want to be a part of in the future.
