Hi all!
My name is Liam, and I will be a rising Junior this summer. I am majoring in Computer Science and Digital Narrative and Interactive Design, which is definitely outside the realm of business, but I still hope to make the most of this opportunity! When not studying, I am a photographer at The Pitt News and do freelance portraits as well on the side. I also love weightlifting and playing video games with friends.
I grew up in Fairfax, Virginia which is a county about 30 minutes away from Washington DC (not exaggerating like some of you Philly folks). I am a dual Swiss/American citizen, which played a large part in me picking Berlin this summer. I really want to improve my german speaking skills so I can communicate better with my family abroad.
Professionally, I intend to go into Web Development, as it aligns with my weird combination of artistic and technical interests. I will be working for Health and Safety Experts this summer, which is a small firm that designs safety protocol for large companies in Germany and other parts of Europe. Their motto is “wenn nichts passiert, haben wir einen spitzenjob gemacht.” which roughly translates to “if nothing happens, we’ve done a good job.” I’m looking forward to working on their website and modernizing their technical stack.
I am excited to see how this trip goes, and so ready to meet the rest of you all!
