From The East of PA to The West

Hello! My name is James Jaekle I’m from West Chester, PA It is about 40 minutes away from Philly. I am currently undecided in the University of Pittsburgh, but I am thinking of doing global business as my major in the fall. In high school I was part of a Cross country team that taught me a lot about discipline, perseverance, and mental toughness. Having to push through tough workouts while having shin splits and supporting my teammates helped me grow both physically and mentally. While showing me how small efforts every day can lead to big results. Some of my many hobbies are video games, hanging out with my friends and traveling around the world.

I chose this program because I see it as a great opportunity to grow, to see what major I want to do, and to see what global business looks like in action. I also wanted to have a head start on college and see where to go before all the chaos comes in the fall. This program will help me make close connections with people around me and have good friends to ask for help when I get here in the fall. The main reason I wanted to come on this program was to see Ireland in its beautiful landscape and see it in more depth than if I had just visited it with my family. Having a chance to talk to small businesses and seeing how Ireland works with my own eyes is a big reason why I chose this program and what made it interesting to me. This program will also be an academic challenge for me. I wanted to challenge myself by taking an honors college class, so I’m fully prepared for all the hard work I will have to do when college starts.
