Hey y’all, I’m Andrew Leon, and I’m from Dallas, TX. I’m in the Frederick Honors College, and I’m majoring in Global Management and plan to add a Marketing major. My hobbies include photography, film, listening to music, and watching sports. Even though I’m from Dallas, my favorite teams are the Boston Celtics and Arsenal. In high school, I was the President of the Entrepreneurship Club, Captain of the Fencing Team, Head of Marketing for theater, Co-President of the Black Student Union, Global Ambassador, and a creative media intern for my high school’s sports pages. I also run a sports media business where I film mostly high school and college-level athletes. I love being able to combine my passions for sports and film in a way that I can not only meet really cool people and athletes, but also bring me some money.
I chose this program because I wanted to get the chance to get a head start on college. Getting the opportunity to get acclimated to the college way of life early is the best way to build a solid foundation for the rest of the year. I also love traveling and wanted to get the chance to continue my studies abroad in college, like I did in high school. I believe that a program like this lines up perfectly with my Global Management major and will give me the knowledge, skills, and in-person experience that I’ll need to succeed in my professional endeavours after my time at Pitt.
