My name is Isabella Elm. I am from Peters Township, PA which is about 40 minutes away from the University of Pittsburgh. I will be attending the University of Pittsburgh School of Business and Frederick Honors College in the fall with an intended major in Business Analytics, with a possible double major as well. During high school I was a member of the field hockey team and played at the national level for many years. I love to volunteer for anything and everything I can, and in my spare time I enjoy reading historical novels and baking for my family and friends! More recently, I was a debutante in the Cinderella Ball, which was the conclusion to volunteering as a part of the Young Women’s Forum for the City of Pittsburgh.
In high school, I was President of Fashion Club, and involved in other clubs such as Interact Club, Student Activists for the Environment Club, National Honor Society, Future Business Leaders of America, Mock Trial, Bible Club, and Law and Government Club- I plan on joining similar clubs during my freshman year. Additionally, I have background experience as an intern for my local State Representative. During my internship, I had the opportunity to work directly with constituents, plan and execute community engagement events, as well as research and assist in drafting legislation for my local State Representative to take to the House. I have also worked in a formal dress boutique located near my home. As a sales associate, I have had the ability to engage with individuals from different places, as well as gain experience in customer service and hospitality.
This summer, I and eleven other students are participating the Haller Global Fellowship Study Abroad Program. We are starting our Study Abroad program at the University of Pittsburgh with class, site visits, and more. We will be traveling to County Donegal, Ireland, and Belfast, Northern Ireland! In Ireland and Northern Ireland our groups will be consulting for small businesses in the area. We also will have the opportunity to experience Ireland and the history of the area! I am really looking forward to the coming weeks as a part of the Haller Global Fellowship!
