My Strenghts

Today, I found out about StrengthsFinder, a learning tool that tells me about my strengths in interacting with others and what I do best to contribute to a team. My top five strengths are Consistency, Harmony, Relator, Competition, and Restorative. It helped me understand what I bring into group settings and how I can use these skills to find out what job best fits me. My number one strength is consistency, This means I am closely aware of the need to treat people the same. I also crave stable routines and clear rules that everyone can follow. In a group setting, I am more comfortable with structure and routine. I want everyone to share responsibilities, make fair decisions, and balance the work between everyone. My second strength is Harmony, This reflects my desire not to have conflict and build consensus. I’m not someone who enjoys drama or debate for the sake of getting what I want. I like to find areas of agreement and focus on what gets people together instead of what divides them. My third strength is Relator, which means I have a deep desire to have trusting relationships and want to achieve a goal with them. I don’t like large groups of people. I prefer smaller groups where I know everyone and connect beyond the surface level. My fourth strength is Competition, which surprises me that it’s so low because I hate to lose at anything. I am driven to win no matter the consequences to others, and compare myself to others to get myself to be better. I like comparing my performance to others and pushing myself to be the best that I can be. Finally, my last strength is Restorative, It shows that I am skilled at figuring out what is wrong and resolving it. Whether that means identifying flaws in a plan, helping resolve group tension, or rethinking how to approach an assignment. I am going to do everything in my power to deal with the issue and work toward a solution. Having seen everyone’s strengths, I saw how each group member brings different strengths to each other and how everyone does not have all the same strengths. Some have more strengths in creativity and brainstorming, while some have more in communication or execution. One big thing was how much stronger we are when we know what our strengths are. This can help us tremendously, so we can be with someone for the opposite side instead of trying to work the same way. For example, someone with the strength in Ideation might have a good way to get the project done but does not do the work to get it done, while someone with the strength in Achiever can be excellent at making sure everything gets done on time. With all of our strengths, this project in Carrgart got 100% easier by leaning on what we know we are good at and giving roles to each other that match us.
