I am officially en-route for Ireland! As I sit in the Philadelphia airport, scrolling through photos, I am reflecting upon the good times I had this past weekend!
My Saturday started off with a Target run, with Maddy and Sol. We opted to take the bus there, as we knew we would have to learn how to use bus system by the time fall rolls around. Honestly, after two long weeks, it felt really good to walk around Target and take our time browsing through the store. After picking up some last minute essentials, we ventured down to the Waterfront town center, where we made a stop at Barnes & Noble! While I did not buy any books, I always have a good time browsing through selections and adding titles on to my TBR list (which never ends at this point).
The main event of the morning was the movies, where we joined the other girls and went to go see the new Fantastic Four: First Steps in IMAX! As a huge Marvel fan and movie buff, I really loved the movie and the new take on that particular story! People are saying that this summer is a generational run of movies, and I couldn’t agree more. Nonetheless, I can’t wait to see these characters come back in Avengers: Doomsday!
That afternoon, we got ready to head to the Pirates baseball game at PNC Park! This was after I got locked out of my room, however. Of course it had to happen in the last couple of days, but fortunately enough, I was able to go get help in person and get myself back in! To get to the Pirates game, we took a bus and the train, which was my first time taking. It was exciting, and we managed to get out unscathed. Even though I am a Phillies fan, I did indeed wear a Pirates hat in support of my new city! The Pirates played the Diamondbacks from Arizona, and they won 2-0. A lot of the balls hit wound up in the stadium seats, with many pop-ups and fouls, though it was a good run! I had a lot of fun at the game, and I will definitely be back at PNC Park when the Phillies pay a visit!
Sunday was the day to pack. After long, tedious hours of laundry and packing, I got all of my stuff out! (Plus or minus a coffee run or two)! In the evening, out of pure boredom, Maddy and I went out for a scavenger hunt throughout Oakland. The walk to accomplish the entire hunt was about 2.1 km so we definitely got our steps in for the day! The scavenger hunt itself was a Murder Mystery- After Sunset, where a girl was murdered and we had to go around and find her killer through various clues and puzzles and anagrams (so many anagrams). Roughly two hours later, we discovered the killer! And got to see sights of Oakland I wouldn’t even imagine walking through. We ventured upon the street of Greek Life, Craig Street, and some historical buildings! Overall, it was really fun, and it got us out and about in the evening! We also stopped by Schenley Park, where they were doing a movie at the park event. While we did not stay long there, the atmosphere was amazing and it was a perfect end to the day!
Currently, on Monday, I am on my way to Ireland! We have a jam-packed day ahead of us when we land there on Tuesday, and I am excited for what new adventures will come!
