First Impressions and Project Matchups

Today marks my first two days living in Pittsburgh, and it’s been very different from rural Pennsylvania. Back home, I never had to worry about traffic or navigating busy sidewalks. Here, though, I’m already getting used to walking between classes and exploring different restaurant options that the city has to offer. My roommates and I have exploredthe majority of Oakland by now, and it feels like home already. The campus is beautiful (especially Cathy), and the University has an incredible welcoming energy that makes me even more excited to dive into our consulting work.

Meeting my project group today really brought that energy to life. I was assigned to the Business Development plan with my group members, where we will develop a plan to help our client identify new growth opportunities and expand their reach. We will come up with a plan to come up with new market opportunities and design a strategic plan to capitalize off Carrigart’s beautiful town. I’m excited to be working in business development because it requires a perfect mix of creative problem-solving, strategic thinking, and looking at the big picture in a real world scenario. Just these 48 hours have me excited for what has to come.
