As our two weeks in Pittsburgh come to a close, it is bittersweet to know that I’ve learned so much in a matter of little time I had here. I’ve learned to navigate through campus quickly, which hours are the busiest for Starbucks, what food places take panther funds, managing blog prompts/case studies while also enjoying myself and going out – this is just a factor of what college is going to feel like and I hope I’ll make the most out of it this Fall semester! One of my biggest moments from these two weeks I’d have to say would be actually doing this program to begin with. When I officially enrolled to Pitt, I’d never thought I would actually be in a study abroad program until my Sophomore or Junior year, but this is just an amazing opportunity to be in, and getting real world experience before my first ever semester in the Fall. I also think one of my biggest moments in this program was being able to do regular activities all on my own, being officially an adult you have to navigate most of the stuff in your life all by yourself. So being here in a city I don’t recognize, meeting brand new people, and jumping into real world situations/managing a big project pushes me to be a better, more refined version of myself.
Circling to our team’s project, the one thing I have just learned to dial down in my head is learning to work in any given situation. I’m not “best friends” with my team overall, but we have overcome our differences, and really focusing on what really matters the most. Over the past two weeks we have gone through some ups and downs. We also had loads of team meetings in just a span of two weeks and touring lots of shops, murals, etc. But in the end of these two weeks at Pittsburgh, I know I have gained a lot knowledge of real life scenario’s where I will have to deal with this 10 years from now, and I met with really great people who gave all of our group valuable information. My next thoughts for this upcoming trip to Ireland is just surviving the jet lag for now, and getting some decent sleep. I really am looking forward to meet Erin and ensuring our consulting project is well put together. Also, this is my first time flying to Ireland, so this excitement I cannot put into text is something that brings me a lot of thrill!
