Final Ireland Reflection

Ireland was absolutely incredible. Truly, these last 2 weeks have changed me as a person, both in and out of the classroom. Immersion into the Irish culture through our stay at Griffith College and in interaction with the companies and people of Ireland is an experience I will hold with me forever. I truly do not think anything could’ve made our stay better.

My favorite company visit had to have been Airbnb. The company’s atmosphere mix with their positivity and strong mission really opened my eyes to the possibilities that exist within the workplace. My favorite excursion had to have been the trip to Howth. The hike we took along the cliffs was magical and I had no idea Ireland had such natural beauty along its coastline.

My favorite memory of our two week stay in Ireland will be all the moments I spent with the group of my fellow students. It sounds cheesy, but we truly became a family of sorts. We always traveled as a group and we all genuinely liked each other, it was so refreshing to enjoy every moment with a new group of friends. Bonding with them abroad is an experience I will always look back fondly on and I cannot thank the University of Pittsburgh and Mr. Woodcock enough for bringing us all together. It really was the most incredible trip for all of us.

When I move back onto campus in a short week’s time I will be so grateful to this program, its organizers, and its participants for the memories and experiences. Having a new group of friends to turn to during this next chapter of our lives is something I can never express my gratitude for enough!
