Hello, my name is Liam Carmody. I’m from a small town in Northeast PA, near Scranton. I believe I am best defined by my passions for soccer, learning, travel, sustainability, and life. I  strive to inject enthusiasm and enjoyment into everything I do, while also doing my best. This has paid dividends in my academic career up to now. I was a top achiever in high school and made huge strides in my district’s sustainability efforts. I am now enrolled as a member of Pitt Business Honors and the Honors College. I plan on studying both finance and biology in my time as an undergrad at Pitt. I am now participating in the Haller Global Honors Fellowship at Pitt Business. I chose this program because I am incredibly passionate about travel, especially to Europe. It also provides a fantastic opportunity to acclimate myself to Pitt and Pittsburgh, not to mention a small class with Pitt’s finest Dr. Ray Jones. From an academic and professional perspective, the trip provides great site visits and lectures that help prepare us for the true WORLD of business. All of the elements I’ve mentioned will hopefully transfer into takeaways from the program. Ultimately, I hope to benefit individually with the amazing travel and early access experience, academically with an immersive class taught by a renowned professor, and professionally by adding a resume boosting and transferable skill building experience. Not to mention the close friendships and connections I plan on establishing with this great opportunity.
