While I don’t know most of my family history, I do know that I am at least a small part Irish on my dad’s side. Going into this trip, I didn’t know much about Dublin or Ireland for that matter, so I’m excited to see the place I may have originated from and learn more about what makes it so unique and a popular destination for tech companies. I also studied abroad in Spain the summer before my junior year of high school and it was one of the best experiences of my life so far. Therefore, I always knew I wanted to continue traveling and study abroad again in college. I wanted to get involved in this program partially because I was able to start school and experience Pitt early, but also because I have never been to Ireland and I wanted to experience a new country, culture, and overall way of life. I was also interested in going on company visits to many technology-based businesses in Ireland and learning about the ways business differs between Europe and the United States.
