If I was lucky enough to be a full-time resident in London, I would love to live either in Camden or Greenwich which are two distinct areas of the city. Camden is in the northwest part of London and one reason I would like to live there is because there is a huge night life there and plenty to do. It is very diverse, culturally, and has the Camden Market which has tons of different food and vintage shops. On the other hand, Greenwich is quite different. It is in the south part of London (south of the river Thames) and is home to a huge park (over 180 acres) and interesting activities such as Greenwich Market and the Royal Observatory. From the top of the park, there is even a gorgeous view of part of the city (pictured above)! I would love to live here because, if I was living abroad, I would want to adopt a dog and there is plenty of green space to go for walks and exercise.
Ideally, I would love to be in an accounting role for a large accounting firm. Since I am going to school for accounting, I’d love to put my degree to work and continue learning about the field. Additionally, I think this would be a really exciting field to work in because London is such a global city and I would have many opportunities to travel to meet clients. Also, the financial industry is very large in London so there are plenty of opportunities!
One aspect of London’s culture that I would further explore is the different boroughs. Each borough has its own vibe and culture and they are all so unique. I think that I would learn a lot about London by going to see as many boroughs as I can. Additionally, I would love to explore the food culture more. There are so many food markets with tons of different vendors so it’s a great weekend activity to explore them. Through exploring the boroughs and great food spots, I would know the parts of the city that I like and don’t like and, if I was in London permanently, I’d be able to find the spots of the city that I love enough to settle down in. London is just an amazing city to study, work, and live in. There is an abundance of activities to do in your free time and I know, if I was lucky enough to live in London full-time, I’d never be bored!
