Il Mio Grazie A Firenze

My study abroad experience in Florence was truly life-changing and I couldn’t be more thankful for the opportunities I encountered during my time there. I was able to make many lifelong friendships, explore a beautiful and vibrant culture, and gain a greater understanding of the world around me. Although I was only there for a short time, I returned home with an immense growth in both my personal and my professional life.

The cultural immersion I experienced in Italy was invaluable. I was exposed to a diverse range of customs, beliefs, and ways of life. I learned to appreciate the importance of being open-minded, and to value the unique perspectives of each person I encountered. My language skills improved significantly, allowing me to communicate more effectively with both local Italians and English-speaking travelers.

Academically, I learned from the amazing professors at my host program CAPA. I specifically enjoyed my international economics course as it was both comprehensive and eye-opening. I learned the basics of international economics, such as exchange rates and global trade. I was also exposed to more advanced topics, such as the implications of financial markets and current economic trends. It provided me with an incredibly valuable learning experience as it gave me a greater understanding of the global economy and equipped me with the ability to think critically about economic issues. My professor was excellent and the class discussions gave me the opportunity to engage with fellow students and learn from their perspectives. I am grateful for the knowledge I acquired in my economics class and will be able to draw on this knowledge in my career.

The key takeaways from my study abroad experience in Italy relate to self-confidence, resilience, and an appreciation of other cultures. I plan to incorporate these lessons into my remaining time at the University of Pittsburgh by taking on leadership roles more confidently, pursuing my interests, and engaging with people from different backgrounds. I will leverage these lessons and experiences in my future career by continuing to engage with a diverse range of people and by understanding the importance of resilience in the face of challenges.

Overall, my study abroad experience in Italy was a most rewarding experience. It gave me the opportunity to grow professionally and personally, while exposing me to a unique and diverse culture. I am immensely grateful for the experiences I had and the growth I achieved. I will always cherish the memories I made in Italy and the relationships I built. There is no doubt that studying abroad changed my life for the better and I am confident it will benefit me for many years to come. Ciao Firenze!
