My great great grandparents moved from Ireland to Pittsburgh in order to work in the steel industry. My grandma frequently talks about her aspirations to visit Ireland to feel more connected with her roots. I was presented with this opportunity to go to Dublin and, foremost, I felt incredibly excited. However, I also thought about how my grandma has wanted to go to Ireland for years but has never been able to afford the trip. I hope that I will be able to bring home stories and pictures to my family. Although it is not as good as going, I am sure that my grandma will be very excited that I get to live out one of her dreams.
