One aspect of Irish history that I am looking forward to learning more about is Bloody Sunday. Although there were not a lot of casualties, this was a major turning point for Irish culture and politics. Thirteen unarmed civil rights activists were murdered by British army paratroopers. Fiftyone years later, there are still many unanswered questions about why the innocent civilians were killed. I am hoping to learn more about this event through our various museum visits and from talking to the locals and hearing their opinions and how it impacted their community.
