A Final Goodbye to London

When I first set foot in London, I was both excited and nervous. As a student with Pitt Business’s study abroad program, I knew I was in for something big. Little did I know, the next few months would change me in ways I never expected.

London’s hustle and bustle immediately drew me in. The city was alive with energy, and I couldn’t wait to explore. But it wasn’t just about sightseeing. I was here to work too. The internship I got through the program was eye-opening. I learned so much about how business works on a global scale, from dealing with people from different backgrounds to understanding how culture influences work.

In class, things were just as interesting. We covered topics like international finance, multiculturism, British film, and so much more. Each lesson gave me a deeper understanding of the world around me beyond the simple confines of the United States.

Living in a foreign country taught me a lot about independence. From figuring out the subway to handling everyday tasks, I had to rely on myself. It wasn’t always easy, but I learned to roll with the punches.

But the best part of it all was the people. I met students from all over the world and made friends with locals too. It was amazing to see how different cultures could come together and learn from each other.

Looking back, I’m grateful for everything I was able to do and experience during the time I spent in London. The things I learned will stick with me forever. And now, as I look to the future, I know I’ll be able to take what I gained abroad and apply it to whatever comes next. I’ll always be thankful for the chance to experience it all and will forever be glad that I took the risk of crossing the pond and experiencing life in London.
