Bonjour! My name is Elise Kineke and I am going to be a Senior at the University of Pittsburgh starting in the Fall. I am studying Political Science with and International Relations concentration, as well as pursuing a minor in French. I have been studying French since I was 13, and even lived in the South of France for a summer through an AIFS program. Professionally, I had an internship with the American Red Cross this past semester, working with their Disaster Preparedness team.
My chosen international program is in Paris. I chose this program because I speak French and because I hope to pursue a career potentially in Europe or in international relations between Europe and the United States. Personally, I hope to better my French communication skills as well as gain a deeper understanding of the French culture and environment. Academically, I hope to secure my French minor and take the French fluency test. Professionally, I want to make connections with my company. Networking in Paris will greatly help me if I decide to pursue a career there post-graduation. Also, I hope to better my professional French skills and learn more about how to communicate in business settings in French.
Bonne journée!
