Clearing up uncertainty in Prague!

So far, in my marketing internship at Move To Prague, I’ve encountered some areas of uncertainty and ambiguity. However, asking for more direction or advice has helped me grow significantly not only professionally but also personally.

Within an international environment, it can be hard to jump into an internship that requires much communication without having fully experienced the environment and culture before. Prague’s market is unique, with a mix of local and international clientele. Understanding the nuances of these diverse groups and developing marketing strategies to effectively reach them can be challenging. However, in my internship there are three other interns (all of whom are not from the Czech Republic). They have been here longer than me and have shown me their strategies that have helped me overcome any of these challenges.

On social media, trends are rapidly changing. Keeping up with the latest trends, tools, and best practices while ensuring they align with our company’s goals adds a layer of complexity to our work. Understanding when we should be more funny or serious with the content we create has caused some confusion, but has also made the workday fun and interesting.

As an intern, understanding the company’s long-term strategy and how my tasks fit into the bigger picture sometimes feels unclear. In this internship the interns map out what content will be posted when, so sometimes it can be difficult to know if that is what the supervisor is also looking for.

I am lucky to have multiple other marketing interns that I work with. This has helped give me much direction and remove a lot of uncertainty that may be felt. I am appreciative of their advice and critiques and feel it is helping me grow professionally and personally.

Outside of my internship, this weekend I travelled to Budapest, Hungary. I went with three other people from IIP, and it was so much fun!  Heres some photos from the trip:

I am very excited for another amazing week!
