A Letter To Me

Hey! I know you’re freaking out about leaving your comfort zone and going to a new country, but it will one hundred and ten percent be worth it. I know you are stressed about every little detail and things working out, but it will be an experience that you will look back on and be so glad you did. Everything will work out when you get there, you will meet so many new amazing people that you will learn so much from. Even if it is hard adjusting to the new environment l, people and time zone, that will all go away super fast and you will be having one of the best semesters. You will look back and be so proud of yourself for taking that leap and be so thankful that you did this for yourself. While it may get draining at times, but it is totally worth it. Studying in Florence has helped me grow and develop as a person in so many different ways. I was always a very type A person, with routines and daily schedules. Since being abroad, I have learned that it is ok to let go sometimes and go with the flow. While routine is good sometimes, learning to be comfortable with a more laid back lifestyle has allowed me to let go of many stressors and become more content with the little things. Another thing abroad has taught me is to become more comfortable being alone and doing things by myself. A lot of times there’s things I want to do and I learned it is okay to do them alone and you will have an amazing time and get so much out of it. Spending quality time with yourself is one of the best things one can do for themself. These are both lessons that I will take back with me to the US and use in my daily life. By the end of the program, you will wish you had more time to take in all the memories and views of Florence. The little things are what you will remember the most and money will come back but the memories won’t! Time has flown by, so savor every second of it. I am so grateful for this opportunity to study abroad for four months, and wouldn’t change any part of it. Enjoy the last few bits of abroad and savor every second of it! Ciao!
