Hey! My name is Mara E. Parker, and I am so excited to be part of and embark on my journey abroad through the Dublin International Internship Program. I am currently a rising Junior studying Computer Science, and I have a strong interest in new tech innovations, even those outside of my own field. So please feel free to discuss your area of study with me, as I would be very excited to hear!
About Me & My Growth Plans for Dublin IIP
Personally, on this trip, I would like to improve my adaptability and confidence in living and working somewhere I have never been. As I am sure many of us have, I have gone away to sleepaway summer camp as a child, but even then, we still had a “trusted adult” to go run to if something went awry. On this trip, I want to step up as my own “trusted adult” and own my growth and independence. I also want to immerse myself in Ireland’s history, culture, and vibrant environment.
Academically, I want to understand better how what I have learned in my classes translates to a professional environment.
Professionally, I am excited to gain perspective on office life and what that entails socially as well as for my future career. (And of course, those LinkedIn connections. 😜)
