Week 5: Flight after Flight

Week five has been a mix of quiet workdays and exciting travel. I recently returned from a short but unforgettable trip to Estonia, where I spent most of my time in Tallinn. The old town felt like something out of a storybook, with the winding cobblestone streets, medieval towers, and colorful facades. It was much smaller and calmer than Berlin, but incredibly charming. I loved the contrast between the historical core and the hip, modern vibe of Telliskivi Creative City, where I found cool cafés, vintage shops, and even a photography museum tucked into an old factory space.

Back in Sweden, work has taken on a unique rhythm. Most of my team is on vacation, so I’ve been the only one in the office. At first, I thought it might feel isolating, but it’s actually given me a chance to focus deeply on my projects without distractions. I’ve been trusted with more responsibility, which has made me feel like a real contributor to the team. Plus, the quiet has given me time to plan out my remaining travels and reflect on everything I’ve experienced so far. It’s been a rare balance of productivity and personal freedom.

Looking ahead, I’ve got trips to both Oslo and Amsterdam coming up. Oslo will be my first time experiencing Norway, and I’m excited to see the fjords, explore Vigeland Park, and maybe even try some local seafood by the harbor. Amsterdam has been high on my list for a while now, between the canals, the museums, and the bike culture, I can already tell it’s going to be a highlight of the summer. It’s wild to think how easy it’s been to travel across countries here compared to back home, and I’ve been trying to make the most of every weekend.

This fifth week has made me realize just how fast time is flying by. With only a few weeks left, I’m trying to soak up as much as I can—whether it’s a quiet walk to the office through Swedish neighborhoods, or a spontaneous trip to a new city. The internship has been more than just work; it’s become a gateway to a broader European experience I didn’t expect to have in such a short time. I feel like I’ve grown a lot in just five weeks, both professionally and personally, and there’s still more ahead to look forward to.
