Hello everyone! My name is Riya Kumar, and I am a student at the University of Pittsburgh majoring in Business Information Systems (BIS) and Marketing. Throughout my time at Pitt, I have been involved in several organizations that have helped me grow both personally and professionally while preparing me for a future career that combines technology, business strategy, and marketing.

Academically, I am passionate about understanding how businesses use technology and data to make informed decisions while also learning how marketing can create meaningful connections between organizations and their customers. Professionally, I have gained experience through leadership opportunities, campus involvement, and career development programs that have strengthened my communication, teamwork, and problem-solving skills.

This summer, I am excited to participate in the Stockholm, Sweden Internship Program through the University of Pittsburgh. I chose this program because it offers a unique opportunity to gain international work experience while immersing myself in a new culture. Stockholm is known for its innovation, sustainability, and thriving business environment, making it an ideal place to learn about global business practices and expand my professional perspective.

Personally, I hope this experience helps me become more independent, adaptable, and confident while navigating a new country and culture. Academically, I look forward to applying concepts from my BIS and Marketing coursework in a real-world international setting. Professionally, I hope to develop valuable skills, build a global network, and gain insights into how businesses operate in an increasingly interconnected world.
