Today we had the opportunity to visit Connellsville and learn about the work of the Fayette County Cultural Trust and its role in supporting economic development throughout the community. One of the key aspects of their approach is using local resources and attractions to draw visitors into the area while encouraging them to stay longer and spend money at multiple local businesses. Rather than relying on a single destination, the Trust focuses on creating an experience that benefits the entire community.

One of their most successful strategies has been leveraging Connellsville’s natural scenery, particularly the river located near the Comfort Inn. The river and surrounding outdoor recreation opportunities attract travelers who might otherwise only pass through the area.
