Lindsey Myers: IIP Berlin Introduction

Gutentag!

My name is Lindsey Myers, and I am a rising junior at the University of Pittsburgh studying Global Management and Supply Chain Management.  I am also pursuing a Certificate in Business Analytics and a minor in German.  I am so excited to put my German language skills to the test while spending about three months in Berlin, Germany with the International Internship Program.  I have been studying the language since the fifth grade, but from past experience, I know that the best way to truly learn it is by being surrounded by native speakers every day.  This will be my second time in Germany as last summer, I took part in the Plus3 Program to Augsburg, Germany.  I cannot wait to see how my experience in northern Germany compares to what I experienced in Bavaria last summer.

This summer, I will be working as a Supply Chain Intern at Derdack, which is an IT company in Potsdam.  Although I am going to be having a pretty long commute to work each day, I am excited to work outside of the city.  Based on the conversations I have already had with my supervisor, this internship is going to be a great and valuable experience.

Over the course of the summer, I will be writing weekly blogs about my experience while interning in Berlin.  As a native of Pittsburgh, this will be the longest that I have ever been away from home, but I am so excited for everything that is to come and all of the many memories I will make that will last a lifetime!
