When I arrived in Dublin over a week ago, I was very nervous to start my adventure in a totally new city on a totally different continent. Since the program start date wasn’t until the next day, I spent my first day here exploring the city center by myself and walking around trying to familiarize myself with my new home for the next 3 months. In these first few days here we have done a variety of activities planned by EUSA as well as just exploring with other people in the program.
In these first few days here we have done a variety of activities planned by EUSA as well as just exploring with other people in the program. All of these activities pretty much involved using the very complicated bus system. Much like Pittsburgh, the bus system is a crucial part of life here from getting downtown to go food shopping or go to a pub to going to our internship job sites. So learning the different types of bus routes and how even bus etiquette works was definitely a culture shock for me.
Another activity we have done this week is a field trip planned by EUSA to a place called Wicklow. We toured around an ancient monastery as well as Guinness Lake and walked around beautiful gardens.
Overall my first week here has been great and I can not wait to see what the next couple months have in store!
