Visting Edinburgh – Robin Lis

Hey Everyone!

It’s been a few weeks since I made my last post, but I am back again. There is officially 2 weeks left in the program, and while I am sad it’s coming to an end, I am excited to return to Pittsburgh.

However, this past weekend I visited Edinburgh, Scotland! Scotland was absolutely beautiful. The first thing we did after arriving was to climb to Arthur’s Seat. Arthur’s Seat is the top of an extinct volcano in Edinburgh, about 800 ft above sea level. It took us about 20 min to hike to the top, but the view was spectacular. We got a panoramic view of Edinburgh from the top.

After this, we visited Edinburgh Castle. The castle was also very cool, although younger than I had expected it to be. We then got some food at a local pub, where I tried haggis. Haggis is basically sheep liver, lung, and heart (gross, I know). Surprisingly, it actually wasn’t bad at all! After hiking around the city, it was well welcomed.

We then explored some museums around Scotland and just did some shopping. We were only there about a day and a half, but Edinburgh will always be one of my favorite memories. I only have about 11 more days here in London, but I am going to make the most of it.

Stay tuned for my last post!!
