My favorite things in London

So far in London, I feel like I have done so much! However, as my trip is starting to come to a close, I want to take a moment to look back at some of my favorite things I have done during my stay here.

I have went to many places and have seen many things. It was definitely cool to see all of the iconic landmarks, like Big Ben, Buckingham Palace, and Westminster Abbey. But, one of my favorite places I went to was the Shard. My friends and I bought tickets to go to the top of the Shard, and we stayed there and watched the sunset. The Shard is the tallest building in London, and at the top you can see a full 360 view of the city. It was incredible to watch the sun go down over the city and to watch London light up in the night time. I went on the London Eye as well, but I would definitely recommend the Shard to someone who is deciding between the two.

Continuing on, we also went to see Phantom of the Opera at Her Majesty’s Theatre. It was an amazing show! I was very impressed with the elaborate sets and the talent that the actors brought forth. It was hands down the best theatrical performance I have ever been to!

Furthermore, I have tried a ton of new food while I have been in London. But, my two favorite things I tried were a freakshake and cookie dough. A freakshake is like an extreme version of a milkshake. Mine was a bubblegum flavored milkshake topped with a ton of whipped cream, cotton candy, rainbow candy, and marshmallows. I don’t think I would get the bubblegum flavor again, but my friend’s chocolate milkshake was incredible! As for the cookie dough, we discovered a small pop up shop in Old Street tube station that sold edible cookie dough in tubs and cones as if it were ice cream. I got a classic chocolate chip cookie dough, and it was delicious!

Last but not least, I really enjoyed going to one of the Queen’s parade and going to Madame Tussaud’s wax museum. The parade was awesome, and it was so cool to get to actually see the queen while in London! I will be writing an entire post on this parade soon, so stay tuned! During our last weekend here, my friend and I were looking for some things left to go out and do. We ended up buying a package deal that included tickets for both Madame Tussaud’s Wax Museum and The London Dungeon. The London Dungeon was cool, but I was very impressed by the wax museum! It was so exciting to see replicas of all of my favorite famous people. I took pictures with the likes of Beyonce, Shrek, and of course the royal family. The figures were often put on elaborate displays, recreating iconic moments from their careers. But, this museum had a lot more to it than just the wax figures. It also had a little ride where you sat in a cart and went through London’s history. It was very cool to see everything that happened in London illustrated by extremely detailed and creative sets with wax figures of iconic historical figures like Marie Antoinette and Charles Dickens. The wax museum also had a 4D movie that featured superheroes saving Buckingham Palace, which was very cool to watch as well.

Although I have done so much and had an incredible time doing everything, these were a few of the highlights from my trip to London.
