My summer abroad in Prague is quickly coming to a close. With only two full weeks of my internship left it feels as though this trip went by in the blink of an eye. Although I am having the time of my life overseas I have to say that when the time comes I’ll be ready to head back home. Living abroad can become exhausting. Since this may very well be the only time that I live in Europe for an extensive amount of time I have a constant feeling that I always need to be doing something. Whether it’s visiting a new museum or just wandering around the city there is always something new to explore. I have been living this way for the past two months now and I can definitely say that it has worn me down. This past week or so I’ve definitely felt exhausted and been having to force myself to complete routine tasks. Exhaustion also leads to easily being annoyed. The Czech people are not known for their hospitality, specifically the older generations. Most of the time it has been easy to look past this and not take it personally. However, after being here for almost 2 months it becomes harder to look past the constant rudeness. After a long day of work the dirty looks on the tram or the abysmal food service can be extra annoying. All in all I love Prague and wouldn’t change this experience for the world. It just so happens that after living here for awhile the small things can tend to become much more noticeable.
