We’ve hit the middle of the program. Time is flying by so fast. The days are getting shorter and shorter it seems like.

This week is our midterm break week. I am traveling to Rome, Prague and Berlin. Right now I am in Rome. I was excited to come back to Rome. Its been 4 years since I as last here with People to People. I was excited to see what this trip would entail.

We are currently staying in the most beautiful Airbnb. The view from the windows are breathtaking and the decor is amazing.

We’ve been in Rome since Friday and are leaving tomorrow. So far I’ve seen the Colosseum, the Trevi Fountain, the Spanish Steps and the Pantheon. Today we went to St. Peter’s Basilica. I had been before but this time was different. I had the opportunity to goto the top of the Basilica, in the dome. It was the most breathtaking view I have ever seen. The climb to the top was extremely strenuous but very much worth it.

Right after we came down from the dome, the Pope appeared and spoke to the crowd and there was a massive crowd. Everyone was cheering and waving. It was very surreal. The pure happiness of everyone around me was surreal as well.

After, I had the opportunity to meet up with a friend who was with me on the trip I had taken to Italy 4 years ago. I was amazing and ironic that were there together, again. We spent most of the day together reminiscing about the trip 4 years ago.

Italy is extremely different compared to London. There was much more of a culture shock coming here, partly because of the language. Though, the people here act differently. Body language, style, food, and customer service are all so much different here.

So far, spring break has been amazing and I can’t wait to see what Prague has in store for me.
