Surf Camp Yew!!

Last weekend I went to Surf Camp Australia. We bussed up to 7 mile beach on Friday night. Surrounded by a tiny beach town, it boasts beautiful views and magnificent waves. We lived as the surfers do, in tiny shacks with bunk beds and no A/C. Normally this would be a bummer, but it only added to the experience.

We woke up early each morning, ate a healthy breakfast and hit the beach. I picked it up pretty quickly and was able to stand up on my second try. The waves were just the right size for beginners and broke for a long time, making for nice rides. Our second lesson got cancelled due to windy conditions, but the third lesson was extra long so it turned out fine.

On Saturday night we got to hangout with the totally rad surf instructors and lively locals for some great times.

The weekend flew by and I didn’t want to leave. My body thanked me however, as each part of me was sore and exhausted. I am so glad I decided to do it; it was well worth the money. I can’t wait to surf again.
