Spring Break Part 1: Barcelona, Spain

To begin my spring break, a few friends and I traveled to Barcelona. We left Thursday (February 22nd) night around 9pm, and arrived at the Barcelona airport around 11pm. We then took a taxi to our hostel and hit the hay. The next morning we decided to go put our feet in the sand and walk around the beach. Although it was not extremely warm, we still got the feel of spring/summer sun and got to touch the mediterranean sea. After the beach, we just wandered around the city and looked at all the beautiful buildings. The second day was a little more structured. We started off the morning with a free walking tour offered by our hostel that revolved around the architectural works of Antoni Gaudi, ending with the Sagrada Familia. The Sagrada Familia was so large and beautiful, and the life of Gaudi was so interesting to learn about. After the church, we hiked up to Park Guell. The park was filled with pretty plants, and the final view of Barcelona was breathtaking. After all of this walking, we went to sleep early because my roommate Allison and I had an extremely early flight to Paris! Barcelona was beautiful, and I hope I will have the chance to visit Spain again someday.
