From the Classroom, To the City, To Ireland!

Hey everyone!  I am Jess Barone, a rising junior at the University of Pittsburgh.  I am majoring in Marketing (and maybe Human Resources!) and minoring in Legal Studies.  I am from Long Island, New York and I am used to spending my summers on the local beaches reading the day away with an iced coffee in hand.  Heading to Ireland for the unmet will probably be a little different from that lifestyle.  I am a very outgoing person and love learning about people.

I take great pride in my academics and work very hard to make the most out of my time at Pitt.  When I am not in the classroom or studying in the William Pitt Union, I keep very busy with my participation in various organizations. To list a few, I am heavily involved in Alpha Phi Omega a national co-ed service fraternity, The American Marketing Association, and The Outside Classroom Curriculum. As much as I like to fill my day with activities and friends I also love having some quiet time where I am usually cuddled in bed watching The Office or This Is Us.

The various internships I have had I have in marketing have helped me grow my passion and I cannot wait to start working in Ireland.   Participating in the International Internship Program has provided me the opportunity to have an internship abroad and this experience will translate to incredible professional skills that will help me in my future endeavors.  As I mentioned earlier, I really love to talk and learn about others which is also why I cannot wait to begin my travels abroad.  I hope to meet people from Pitt and become closer with them, but I am also excited to meet my coworkers and learn as much as I can about their way of life.

I know spending 3 months in Ireland is the experience of a lifetime and I cannot wait to take advantage of everything the country has to offer! I also hope to travel throughout Europe and see as much as possible with an incredible group of friends by my side.
