If you are a student and have the opportunity to study abroad, do it. You won’t regret it. This blog post is for other students as tips for studying abroad.
Make a plan
One of the things I regret the most is not planning better. Almost all my plans and travels made while abroad were impulsive decision made at the last minute. When traveling, you really need to plan some things in advanced. Flights are almost always cheaper when planned months ahead and accommodations are more abundant. While there’s nothing wrong with a good old last minute plan, for bigger trips and adventurers be sure to do some research ahead of time.
Don’t be afraid to do things alone
One of the best things I learned early on in my trip is learning how to do things alone. I’ve had some of the greatest experiences just wandering and traveling by myself. Often, you will find cool things to do and see but nobody is free to do them with you. There is no shame in going and experiencing these things alone.
Be open to new experiences
Being comfortable with being uncomfortable is another lesson that is super important while studying abroad and traveling. When you are out of your comfort zone. On my trip, some of the greatest memories made were while being super uncomfortable trying something new. Try new food, go on that long hike, make a conversation with that stranger on the bus. New experiences are abundant while abroad and should be seeked out.
