Hey again!
These past 4 months have been an amazing experience. I have seen so many breathtaking cities, tried new things, listened to new music, and had lots of new beer! With only a few more weeks until my flight home from Vienna, I am already starting to feel both sad and excited to reach the end of my journey and to return home.
This past week, I have been revisiting some of my favorite places in Vienna to remind myself of all the beauty this city has to offer. I love everything about it, the colors, the architecture, and even the classical music. I have been spending time at one of my most favorite locations in the city, the Danube river. I get a strong sense of relaxation whenever I visit its parks and peaceful atmosphere. I find it really nice to go and sit under a tree with a book or even a local newspaper to try and improve my German skills. Vienna is a city that moves slower in time than the rest of the world and I always get the feeling that things happen at their own pace here. Ironically, this has never been what I looked for in life. Back home, I always look to be in the places that are the most fast moving. It makes me feel like I’m really connected to whats going on around me and that I’m not missing out on a single moment. But out here I feel differently. Since this has been such a new experience for me, the calm feeling that this city gives off has been very comforting and something I have grown to love. I’m sure as soon as I get back home, I will be getting right back into the swing of this, but it has been nice to live out here in this tranquil European city.
Until next time!
