Parmesan is Overrated

Business Issue with Competing Pressures:  Based on what you see in the three videos, identify a specific issue with competing pressures.  How is a business issue influenced by a social concern?

A business, specifically ones that sell parmesan cheese, can be influenced by consumers because they only want to purchase the legitimate product.  As a result, businesses could use lobbyists to try and encourage a bill to pass that establishes them as the verified seller of parmesan cheese, much like what has happened in Europe.

Rationales For and Against Regulation: Based on the issue you have selected, make one statement for government regulation to address the issue (rationale for regulation) and one statement for minimal regulation/the free market to address the issue (rationale against regulation):

Government regulation would allow for one company to charge a premium for being labeled as the authentic brand.  Therefore, it would inform consumers which one is authentic, but they would be paying a higher market price for parmesan cheese.  If a free market was implemented, then that would allow for competition, therefore pricing would be low because different parmesan cheese manufactures would be competing to sell their product.

Other Examples Like This?:  Based on the competing pressures you see in this video, identify another issue that has an ongoing debate among people who argue for government regulation to address the issue versus those who argue that the free market should address the issue.

Trade is another issue that constantly has an ongoing debate.  Some people believe that trade should be unregulated and that the trade value for items will be established based on demands in other countries.  On the other hand, some people argue for government regulation so that there would be a set standard for the price goods should be traded at.
