Irish Heritage

In preparation for our Ireland expedition, I’ve researched some info on my family tree.My mother’s parents are Patricia Jackens and Daniel Biondo, born in 1949. My father’s parents were Constance Fritz and John Carmody, born in 1944 and 1940. I am most interested in the history of their grandparents, my great-great grandparents because they were the generation that emigrated from the various parts of Europe. I think it would be interesting to look at their stories and how they differed based on where they came from and where they landed. It is also incredible to think about how these struggling European emigrants all funneled down to my family lineage. As for my most interesting ancestor, I would have to guess it would be my paternal grandfather’s uncle, Leo. He always talked about how great he was as an undefeated boxer in local circuits and a hero in a local flood. Learning more about him would be cool for my sake and to tell my grandfather, whom I’m closed to.
