Interests and Goals

Personally, I love traveling, so getting the opportunity to go to Dublin is exciting. I participated in a study abroad program in Spain a couple years ago and it was an incredible experience, so when I found out about the chance to go to Ireland through this program at Pitt, I knew I had to apply. I think studying in other countries and experiencing different ways of life gives an individual more cultural awareness and sparks curiosity. I also think it allows for personal growth by putting yourself in new situations where you are forced to adapt and discover new skills. I tend to get lost easily, so I am looking forward to the challenge of navigating a new city and the opportunity to improve my map-reading and directional skills. On a professional level, I think that visiting companies in another country will give me a better perspective and understanding of global business. I believe it will add an interesting layer to the curriculum I will be learning as a business student at Pitt by adding an additional lens through which you can look at the broad field of business. Overall, I think there are many learning opportunities that arise from studying abroad and I hope it will lead to a significant amount of personal growth and discovery.
