From a professional standpoint, the company visits helped me start thinking about what kind of career I want in the future. I came into this program having almost no idea what field I could see myself working in or even what major I want to pursue. However, now that we have seen a variety of companies with very different purposes, I have ruled out some areas of study, but I have also figured out some topics that interest me. One of these areas is technology, which may lead me to pursue a minor in Business Information Systems if possible. That was never an area I even considered looking into before this program and I’m thankful for all the information that was given to us about how important technology will be in every area of business in the future. Personally, I have met some great people through the program so far and it was a unique opportunity to get to explore Pitt’s campus before officially starting in the fall. I also learned a lot of good information about classes and activities at Pitt from the Haller Global Honors Fellowship alumni from last year, which will be beneficial when I start in a few weeks.
