Playing ball with Dr. Jones

I developed my professional connections and resumé on this trip far more than I could have imagined.  I was able to make a connection with the recruiter, MaryBeth, at one of the Big 4 accounting firms—Ernst & Young.  This is an ideal scenario for me since I want to be an accountant after I graduate and all the accounting firms within the Big 4 are dream places to work for me.  Furthermore, I was hired at the Peterson Events Center to work in the ticket office and set up for events.  I was able to make this connection when we toured the Pete, and I met my present boss, Derek Brough.  Without participating in the Haller Global Honors Fellowship Program, none of these connections would have taken place.

Socially, I also made huge strides in development.  I made nine awesome friends that I was able to explore the campus with.  I now feel extremely comfortable in Oakland, and I can get around with ease.  Additionally, I met lots of upperclassmen who have given me stellar advice.  I was even able to play basketball with my professor one evening.  How often does that happen?
