Housing in Sydney

When studying abroad with CAPA in Sydney, Australia, you will be staying in the Oaks Goldsbrough apartments. The apartments are located on Pyrmont street in the center of Darlings Harbour. Oaks Goldsbrough is in the perfect location for students as you are only a short walk or bus ride from the CAPA center, where all your classes will be, the Central Business District, Chinatown and many other great neighborhoods that Sydney has to offer. Also, with the OPAL card you are provided, you have access to Sydneys extensive transit system that includes busses, trains, light rails, and ferries, to all of Sydney, as well as direct access cities in South Australia, Victoria, New South Wales, and Queensland. A few places I would recommend are Melbourne, Victory, Adelaide, South Australia, and the Central Coast/New Castle, New South Wales.

More on where we are staying though, the Oaks Goldsbrough Apartments come fully furnished and are a great place to live while studying abroad. There are 13 floors, 12 of which are for housing and students can live on any floor from the 5th to the 13th. The 13th floor, where my roommates and I live, is the Penthouse floor and depending on which apartment have beautiful views of the Central Business District, Pyrmont Bridge, the neighborhood of Ultimo, and the Harbour. Inside each apartment comes with two bedrooms, two to two and a half bathrooms, a kitcken, dining room, living room and laundry room. Within these rooms Oaks Goldsbrough provides you with couches, a television, dining room table, and all necessary kitchen utensils and materials. All apartments at Oaks Goldsbrough are two stories, where the kitchen, living room, and dining room are upstairs, and the bedrooms and full bathrooms are downstairs. One thing I have noticed though, is that every apartment has its own unique features and quirks that separate it from another. For example my apartment has two and a half bathrooms with the washing machine and dryer in one of the downstairs bathrooms, where as most apartments only have two bathrooms and a separate laundry room upstairs. Another great aspect of the apartments is that there is a weekly cleaning service where Oaks employees tidy up the kitchen area, vacuum the carpet and replace all towels and bed sheets.

As you can see, both CAPA and Oaks Goldsbrough are very helpful in providing the best possible living situation for study abroad students. Since being here I cannot stress enough that the living situation we are provided has only made this study abroad program better.
