Global Links

The benefit of the Global Links program is that it greatly reduces the amount of waste and overconsumption in Pittsburgh and donates to organizations in need around the world. The only limitation with their program is the logistics of shipping abroad, which can be costly and is sometimes delayed by supply chain issues.

This model creates opportunities by expanding the healthcare industry in resource poor countries, which provides jobs and helps sustain a larger network of healthcare providers. A limitation of this model would be finding hospitals willing to turn over their unused supplies. As their organization expands, there are also added costs, such as maintaining a space for their supplies and the cost of shipping more materials to Central America.

As a marketing major, there aren’t a lot of opportunities in the non-profit sector, however I could still try to get the word out about a charitable organization in order to increase both monetary and material donations.
