I thoroughly enjoyed visiting and learning about Microsoft. The amount of freedom they give their employees feels so foreign to me. We learned about several certificates that can be done for free as University of Pittsburgh students. These certificates specialize in AI and data science which are very marketable skills. I intend to complete at least one certificate on my own over a summer vacation. In terms of personal development, I feel much more comfortable talking in a business setting. I’ve learned vocabulary and etiquette that will improve my ability to communicate in professional environments. The many site visits were also valuable for this development.
